Teaching through Technology

First Year

For the first year we tried the concept of students engagement, where we tried to get the attention of students. Children like to discover new things and want to learn that. So, eventhough a subject is difficult a student can be engaged.
The English introduction at a Elementaryschool was a test to look for the results.
We tried to get the students interested and engaged by a wel know song of Pharrel Williams : HAPPY_ft Minions

After the first lesson we tried the concept of differentiated instruction, collaborative learning and formative assessment. These concepts are well explained in the lesson plan.

Here are some links of the lesson given on the 30th July 2015:

Second Year

In the second year the concept of collaborative learning, multiple intelligences and formative assesment was done.

The classroom was divided in 2 big groups in order to do the formative assessment by a quick quiz. Those big groups had students, of which some were good or less good in computer skills. This means that each group had multiple skilled and intelligent students. Every student had to work together in their group to solve problems or answer questions.

In this project we had to recreate the situation. We chose for environmental pollution, because in Suriname that is a big issue. Also because there are no specific laws that protects our land, water or air from pollution. Suriname is a very beautifull country with a variety of flora and fauna.
A simulation was made with objects of our daily life. The pollution was explained and also shown (Environmental Education)

Third Year

In PAR project I learned a lot about collaboration and getting people interested and willing to cooperate. Motivation and the way of working with each other is the key competencies in this project. Collaborative learning, social and emotional learning together with different learning styles were used in this project to get the idea implemented.
