Mod 12 System Thinking

Our project of System Thinking

In this project we had to recreate the situation. We chose for environmental pollution, because in Suriname that is a big issue. Also because there are no specific laws that protects our land, water or air from pollution. Suriname is a very beautifull country with a variety of flora and fauna.

Mod 10: Mentorship and Readiness to Teach

Lesson Plan

In order to write a good lesson plan for our exam lesson, we had to excercise with other ones. So I made a few.
And then this was the end product:

Exam Lesson

My exam lesson was at HHS dep with AMMA2 (students of IMEAO 5). Andy Plak was the pedagogue who assessed my lesson.
At first I was nervous and began to sweat. But as I began my confidence grew. The lesson was about software and hardware of computers. At first I showed the students some pictures of a computer and its connecting devices. They could recognize all the parts immediately, and then I brought an old computer and asked what the parts were inside. How the parts are called and what they do. Then we talked about the softwares and I learned them a trick to chek their software of their mobile phones. Andy quickly reached in his pocket and did the same. At last I did a quiz with the class, which I had divided in 2 groups.

Feedback

The feedback of Andy was that I must have had used an online quiz app, other wise was I fun and worked together with the class very smooth.

21st Century Teaching Skills

Observation

St. Cecelia school
What I have learned from the observations that there are classes in Suriname, which are to crowded with students. The classes are long and small, and it is also hot in the summer. Students sit in the traditional long rows. It is difficult to get the students engaged in the class if they can't understand you. Teachers have a repetitive system of giving lessons, and they don't actually elaborate some problems.

What you have learned from the course

I learned different ways to teach (skills). Some of my favorites are collaborative learning, differentiated instruction and multiple intelligences.
Some are:

Formative assessment

ICT, subject-matter, and teaching skills
